2025-04-07Disappointing! I recently sent my parents to Umrah through Shepherds (last 10 days of Ramadan package). And it has been really disappointing experience for them. First of all, it was frustrating to communicate with them, it was hard to get answers from them regarding package details even before booking. We were aware of the complications related to visa processing in Ramadan 25. But they kept us in dark throughout the process which made us really nervous. My parents finally got their visa just few hours before their flight, so they had to rush to the airport. We also got to know a few hours before the flight that the Umrah group my parents were joining was going to include passengers from different agencies, not just Shepherds. They didn’t bother to inform us about it. You cant expect all of these agencies to have the same standard, and not all of them charged the same amount of money. They said they will arrange food during the tour, but cancelled that at the very last moment. The hotel in Makkah was horrible, dirty and so far away from the Mosque. They didn’t even provide bottle of waters in the rooms, forget about other basic amenities. There was no proper guide as they said their actual guide couldnt manage visa. Same goes for Madinah too. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong during the tour. Overall it was a disastrous experience, my parents returned sick with high fever from the Umrah due to the long distance they had to walk to got to masjid and to grab food. I paid massive amount (3 lac bdt per person for standard package). Later they charged me additional 21k saying they had to pay extra for the visa. But the service we got was just terrible. I also got to know later that they charged less amount from other people for the same package. To Shepherd, If it’s just business for you, then you should do other things but not this. It was my dream to give my parents a good Umrah experience but you guys ruined it. We were aware of the rush in Ramadan and my parents were prepared for that, but you can’t use that as an excuse for your horrible service. For anyone thinking about going with Shepherds, think a thousand times before doing that. There must be other agencies in BD for whom Umrah is not just a money making machine!

Also, they were very transparent in their hajj management process and tried to fulfill the commitments they made throughout the hajj journey.
